Central City Public Library set out to reimagine its interior spaces more than three decades after first opening, aiming to better serve today’s community and future generations. Working in collaboration with BVH Architecture, Sheppard’s Business Interiors provided furniture solutions throughout the building that enhance both patron experience and staff efficiency. The goal was to create welcoming, flexible areas that support reading, studying, learning, and community gatherings while maintaining a cohesive, timeless aesthetic.
SBI selected flexible seating and modular pieces for the library’s common spaces to allow quick reconfiguration for events of all sizes, from author readings to group activities and independent study. Integrated power options and comfortable seating ensure patrons can stay for extended periods while supporting modern technology needs. Staff spaces were outfitted with ergonomic workstations and enhanced storage to improve workflow, sightlines, and patron assistance. The result is an adaptable, community‑focused library environment designed to support meaningful engagement for years to come.
Inspired? Same.
Let’s turn that spark into a space that works as good as it looks.
