Sheppard’s Business Interiors partnered with Douglas County West Community Schools, Boyd Jones Construction, DLR Group, and Tetrad Property Group to help bring the new DC West Elementary School to life. With rapid student enrollment growth and a need for expanded, modern learning environments, the district set out to create a facility that could better support its preschool through fifth‑grade students. The result is an 82,000‑square‑foot elementary school designed to accommodate up to 675 students while offering a cohesive, future‑ready educational experience.
SBI provided flexible, ergonomic furniture solutions that align with the school’s “Every Space is a Learning Space” vision. Thirty classrooms were furnished to support active learning, collaboration, and easy reconfiguration for different teaching styles. Additional spaces, including a state‑of‑the‑art media center, common areas, and the gymnasium, were outfitted with adaptable pieces that promote student wellbeing and engagement. Together, these elements create a dynamic, student‑centered environment where learning happens everywhere.
